Homemade Marinara Sauce

Pasta is one of my favorite things in the whole world to eat, so it's no surprise that my favorite addition to a great pasta dish is some deliciously, robust marinara sauce.

Now, don't get me wrong. I've had my fair share of store bought sauces, and love Prego just as much as the next girl. However, I was determined to find my own tasty version of the sweet sauce.

I absolutely love this recipe, and perhaps you can find a use for it yourself to spice up that Sunday Funday/Mother's Day dinner you're making for your momma tonight (hint-hint, wink-wink).

Ingredients

1 28 oz. can of diced tomatoes (low sodium)

2 tbsp. minced garlic

1 tbsp. coconut sugar

1 tbsp. dried basil

1 tsp. crushed red pepper

1 tbsp. onion powder

1 tsp. oregano

1 tsp. black pepper

1 tsp. pink Himalayan salt

Place all ingredients in a blender or food processor and pulse several times until well mixed.

Store in an air tight jar (I used a mason jar). Serve with pastas, as a pizza sauce, as a dipping sauce, or anywhere else you want.

Try it out for yourself, and I hope you all do something fun this Sunday!

Happy Mother's Day!
