Vegan Buffalo Jackfruit "Chicken" Dip

I've been watching Harry Potter all day, so it's no suprise I've been making magic in the kitchen today (making Gryffindor proud!). That being said, this delicious dish was made with the magic of jackfruit. A fruit that is versatile in so many ways, and can be used for many purposes.

From beginning to end, this spicy treat took about 15 minutes total time. It was extremely simple to make, and was loved by vegans and non-vegans alike. Give it a try and I hope you did something fun this Sunday!

Ingredients

1 container vegan cream cheese

1 bottle hot sauce (equal to about 1 cup)

1 can jackfruit (in brine or water)

1 packet ranch dressing seasoning

1 tbsp. olive oil

Dried chives

Chips of your choice for dipping

Directions

In a medium sized sauce pan, add the cream cheese, hot sauce, and 1/2 packet of ranch. Place on low to melt cheese. Whisk intermittently until cheese is all melted. Keep on low.

In a medium sized sauce pan, add the olive oil. Heat on medium high heat. Drain and rinse the jackfruit and add to the pan. Break up the jackfruit until broken into small pieces. Brown for about 5-7 minutes, turning frequently.

Add the remaining ranch onto the jackfruit and mix. Cook for another few minutes.

Add jackfruit to cheese sauce mixture and mix well.

Bring heat to high for just a few minutes to heat the mixture all together, stirring frequently.

Remove from heat. Top with dried chives and serve warm with chips of your choice.
